There is something wonderfully old-fashioned about simply having someone’s number.
No special inbox to remember.
No wondering whether a message has disappeared beneath a dozen notifications.
No logging into a fan club every time you want to continue a conversation.
Just a little line between here and there.
And that is the idea behind something new I have been quietly building.
This week, I’m soft-launching a new way to keep in touch with me: monthly access to my private messaging line.
Once you have access, you’ll be able to communicate with me through Telegram (more options coming soon!).
It is intentionally simple.
You message me.
I message you.
A revolutionary concept, apparently.
I’ve spent years creating in spaces where conversation happens inside a platform. Fan clubs are wonderful for libraries, posts, videos, updates, archives, and communities—but sometimes you don’t want to visit an entire digital building just to knock on one person’s door.
The Enchanted Line is the doorbell.
A Different Kind of Connection
I don’t want this to feel like another fan club.
The purpose is private, convenient communication.
When you have active monthly access, our messages can become an ongoing conversation rather than something you have to continually log in somewhere else to find.
We might talk about what I’m creating, books, psychology, food, ridiculous observations from the day, something you saw that reminded you of me, or whatever happens to wander naturally into the conversation.
And because this is still my little corner of the internet, I suspect there will occasionally be poetry, riddles, voice notes, curious questions and assorted enchantments wandering through as well.
I make no promises about behaving like a normal person when presented with an excellent metaphor.
The private line will also give me a wonderfully uncomplicated way to share things directly.
Rather than every piece of content needing to become a formal post, some things can simply arrive in conversation: a photograph, a little audio, a spontaneous update, something I’ve made, or a piece of content you have chosen to purchase.
There is an intimacy to ordinary conversation that social media has never quite managed to reproduce—not intimacy in the dramatic sense, but in the very human sense of being able to pick up your phone and continue a conversation where you left it.
That is what interests me about this experiment.
For those of you who have told me over the years that you’d rather simply be able to message Genevieve directly instead of keeping track of another fan-club inbox…
I heard you.
Apparently, the answer was a telephone number.
How delightfully simple.
Welcome to The Enchanted Line.
